Configuration of display

Compared to the competition, our plugins are characterized by a wide range of configuration options. Thanks to these extensive settings, just about anyone can adapt the functionality of the module to their individual needs and expectations. Don't get confused that our plugin only has 2 configuration options to select from, because they have really an enormous potential. First we'll go to the configuration area of the plugin by selecting the following options from the backedn main menu of the Shopware: Settings -> System -> Plugins.

Find our module in the list of available plugins and go to the configuration area:

Settings for the number of added articles

In this section we'll select the individual options step by step, edit and save the settings. Subsequently we'll show you how the changes are presented in the frontend of your online store and briefly explain which processes have taken place. Let's start.

Add only the 1 piece of the item

As you can see, after selecting the option with adding just 1 piece of the accessory item we mark the desired products and define the quantity of the main article. Then we add the main article to the shopping cart, which now contains the following items: 10 pieces of the main article and 1 piece of the accessory article.

Apply value from the select box of the main article

This option works similarly to the previous one, but with the difference that the accessory items are now added to the shopping cart in the same quantity as the main product. We select 5 pieces of the main item and 2 additional items, then add everything to the shopping cart. As a result, we now have 5 pieces of the main article and 5 pieces of each accessory article in the shopping cart.

Show selectbox separately for each article

With this option, we are dealing with a significant change for the entire presentation. With this setting, the customer can separately define the specific quantity of the individual items which are added to the shopping cart. We've now selected 2 pieces of the main article and respectively 10 and 3 pieces of the accessories. As expected, the corresponding number of items has been added to the shopping cart.

Add only 1 piece of the item by clicking the button

The last of the options available here deviates significantly from all the settings that we have seen so far. In this case, we find a button for each accessory item that enables us to add only the specific item to the shopping cart. The crossseling items are always placed in the shopping cart as 1 piece. The customer can therefore only decide to buy one of the accessories without ordering the main item. Adding an accessory item does not cause the contents of the shopping cart to be displayed, so that the customer remains on the item page and is encouraged to make further purchases. The information regarding the successful addition of the article to the shopping cart is displayed in the form of an animated button and the value of the shopping cart is updated accordingly in the navigation bar.

Settings for links to the additional articles

With these options, we can define how the customer can get more information about our accessories. As with the previous settings, we will first show you how you can change the type of display. We then deal with the changes that can be seen in the frontend of the online store and explain which processes have taken place.

Use modal windows

As you can see, the option of the article name also includes CTA and after the click a simple modal window appears with the product description. In our opinion, this is the most user-friendly solution and we recommend this form in most cases.

Use direct links

This option changes the article name to a link that leads directly to the article detail page. The link will open in a separate browser tab. We recommend this solution in the case of extensive and complicated product descriptions for which it is not sufficient to display the data in the modal window.

Do not use links and modal windows

The third and last option results in the product name remaining a simple text and there's also no way to go to the product description. We only recommend this solution for very simple and self-explanatory products, for which the customer can have no doubt as to what he's buying.
